Ladies, I know I normally speak to you, but this week I’m speaking to your husband.
I still want you to listen, but please share this with your husbands, your friends’ husbands, and any man married to a crunchy mom like you. These are the men who need this conversation.
If you found your way here, whether on your own or because someone shared this episode with you, there’s a good chance you didn’t click out of idle curiosity.
You’re likely confused. Maybe irritated. Possibly concerned.
Your wife started reading labels. She changed the groceries she brings home. She began asking questions no one ever asked before. Suddenly words like toxins, seed oils, hormones, and nervous system are showing up at the dinner table.
And you’ve probably wondered:
Let me say this clearly.
This blog is not here to make you crunchy.
I’m not here to shame you, scare you, or convince you that everything you’ve trusted is wrong.
This episode exists to help you understand what is actually happening in your wife’s mind and body when this shift begins.
How you respond, more than whether you agree, will determine whether this season strengthens your marriage or quietly strains it.
For most women, this change didn’t start with a podcast, a trend, or a reel on Instagram.
It usually starts with something far more grounded:
When that realization hits, something ingrained inside her turns on.
This is not rebellion.
It is responsibility.
Motherhood flips a switch in a woman’s brain.
It heightens:
She begins paying attention to things she never had to think about before because now tiny humans rely on her to protect, nourish, and keep them well.
She starts asking:
Before motherhood, most women assume a sense of invincibility. That illusion disappears quickly.
This shift is biological, hormonal, and deeply spiritual.
So when she questions food, products, medications, or routines, she isn’t rejecting authority or trying to dismantle the system.
She is responding to a call to guard what has been entrusted to her.
She didn’t wake up wanting to fight anything.
She woke up wanting to protect her home.

Supporting her does not require instant agreement or blind buy-in.
It means creating psychological safety so her discernment can mature instead of going underground.
This isn’t a buzzword.
It isn’t about softness.
She is processing, evaluating, and trying to be the best mother she can be. She needs your protection not only physically, but emotionally and mentally.
When you say things like:
What she often hears is:
Your calm presence does three crucial things:
She wants your approval.
She wants your partnership.
If she feels judged, she likely won’t abandon her convictions, but she may hide them. That erodes trust.
Transparency requires curiosity, not defensiveness.
You don’t need special language skills.
Simple statements work:
She doesn’t expect perfection.
She needs presence.
From the outside, these changes can feel like:
From the inside, they are about removing burden.
She wants:
When she sees improvement after removing something, she pays attention.
She isn’t trying to punish or control you.
She’s trying to:
She’s not making life harder.
She’s trying to make it run with fewer breakdowns.
I didn’t intend to cover every change in this episode. I have many other episodes addressing these topics.
Last week, I talked about seed oils. That’s often one of the first changes women make, and it can feel alarming if you don’t understand why.
You are welcome to listen and learn alongside her.
I also created a community called Verity Village.
Verity means truth.
Inside this space, we learn how to live in ways that align our bodies with God’s design, free from noise, ads, and distraction.
There is:
If you want to be a good husband, tell her it’s okay to join. You might even learn together.
She isn’t doing this to make your life harder.
She’s doing it to protect your family.
You don’t need to become crunchy overnight.
Your willingness to stay curious instead of critical may be the very thing that keeps your marriage strong as your family grows wiser.
If you have questions, reach out.
Subscribe to the podcast to keep learning alongside your wife.
I’ll see you back here next week.
